Honey-scented Black Tea from Jeju...

Thanks to a sophisticated and highly professionalised multi-stage production process, the Tea Masters on the South Korean volcanic island of Jeju regularly create exceptional top-quality teas. Like our South Korean Jeju Honey Black with a fine honey aroma.

Jeju Island is the largest volcanic island in Korea and lies at the southernmost tip of the Korean peninsula. The tea field is located where the sun rises earliest, in the heart of the island. With sunshine and warm breezes, the area provides the perfect environment for tea cultivation. Jeju Island's fertile soil is rich in minerals and the water is naturally purified underground. The strong sea breeze from the south, with a speed of 4-7 m/sec, enhances the flavour of the black tea by improving the water absorption of the roots and at the same time enables a clean production of black tea by removing impurities from the tea leaves. The tea bushes benefit from warm sunshine all year round with an average temperature of 16 degrees. With an average annual rainfall of 1 800 mm, the tea trees can grow all year round in clean air and with pure water filtered through the volcanic ash soil.

Which tea cultivars were used for the tea?

The plants originate from Japan and are Yabukita cultivars.

What makes this tea so special?

The Jeju region offers an ideal environment for tea cultivation, where scientific and systematic management produces an organic black tea of the highest quality. The special natural ingredients give the tea its unique taste. The multi-stage production process also influences the high quality of Honey Black Tea. After harvesting, the tea leaves wilt at a temperature of 25-30 degrees. Then the soft tea leaves are rolled and fermented to develop their unique flavour with the honey aroma. After shaping and drying the tea leaves, the first part of the production process is completed. In the second part of the processing, the black tea is selected according to size and colour to obtain the ideal leaves.

Alternative Tea Taster Preparation recommendation from our producer for this tea: 8g to 500ml, 80-90 ℃, brewing time between 2 and 3 minutes.
