Titel

The famous black tea from China's east

Where tradition meets modernity, sometimes something extraordinary is created. The multi-generational tea garden was converted to organic cultivation by the father, and his daughter is pushing for further standards - such as Naturland. Courageous then, trend-setting today.

The famous Keemun (Quimen) black tea has been produced in China's eastern provinces since 1875, originally as an attempt to try something "new". Today it is one of the country's most famous varieties, alongside Golden Yunnan from the south.
The tea garden is family-run and covers a good 150 hectares of land at an altitude of around 450 metres, which has been certified organic for many years. A total of 270 employees pick tea for just 3 months of the year and process it mainly into black tea.
Exclusively for TeeGschwendner, the garden has had Naturland certification for several years.
