Japan TeaCup Gyokko 50ml red
This extraordinary teacup was made exclusively for TeeGschwendner by the Japanese master potter Umehara Hirotaka. The cup is characterised by its irregular decoration on the outside, which is reminiscent of pine bark and therefore bears the name ‘Matsukawa’. The embossed stripes on the surface give the cup an interesting feel and emphasise its unique craftsmanship.
Made from ferrous clay and oxidation-fired, the cup takes on its characteristic reddish colour. There is a white swirl on the bottom of the inside, through which the colour of the tea gently shimmers.
This cup combines traditional Japanese craftsmanship with a unique design - for a very special tea experience. We also recommend our Japanese kyusus ‘Tokoname Gyokko’ (no. 13151, no. 13152), which are also made by Umehara Hirotaka.
The black cup can be ordered under item number 13155.
Note: Illustrations 2-4 are exemplary atmospheric images. The decoration is not included in the purchase price.
